A Queensland Finalist in the Telstra Best of Business Awards
There were 22,000 applicants, so being named a finalist is an incredible honour and recognition of our commitment to a beautiful, natural & sustainable fibre and reinforces our leading by example in the Australian Wool, Textile & Clothing industries as a sustainable business in so many ways.
The Telstra Best of Business Awards celebrate businesses that demonstrate excellence and innovation across various sectors. As a finalist in the Sustainability category, Merino Country stands out for its exceptional efforts in integrating eco-friendly and sustainable practices throughout its operations. From sourcing the raw wool to implementing efficient production processes, the company's dedication to reducing its environmental footprint has been a driving force behind its success.
"There's so many in the supply chain who contribute to the end product"
While we make clothing and underwear that is sustainable, natural, eco-friendly, good for people and the planet - it’s also about having a sustainable business model, manufacturing locally, a great work place, happy staff, loyal customers & partners who all contribute to our success - that's why we're still in business after 31 years!
"Being named a finalist in the Telstra Best of Business Awards is an incredible honor," said Kerrie Richards, CEO of Merino Country. "This recognition validates our commitment to sustainability and reinforces our mission to lead by example in the textile and clothing industry. We are grateful for the support of our team, customers, and partners, who share our vision for a more sustainable future with products that are not only good to wear but are also good for the planet."
"Customers all over the world wear our products!
The Telstra Best of Business Awards showcase businesses that are not only achieving remarkable results but also making a positive impact on their communities and the environment. Merino Country's selection as a finalist underscores our role as a leader in sustainable business practices and our dedication to driving meaningful change in the industry.
The process to being named a Queensland Finalist has been very arduous but it's also been a great way to take stock of our business, of how far we've come, the impact we've had on the Australian Wool, Textile & Clothing industries and a chance to reflect on our future direction.
We look forward to the next stage with the winners of the Telstra Best of Busines Awards being announced at a ceremony in Melbourne later in the year!
